Since I was growing up in Hong Kong, I have always been drawn to art. I fell in love with art early on in my childhood, and enjoyed drawing and doing crafts with my sister. At 15 years old, I moved to the States where my brother, Joseph, became a huge influence in directing me to the fashion industry. I am so thankful to have a brother like him. Without him, I won't have my career now, and be so in love with creativity of my career.
I graduated in 2003 with a BA degree in fashion design at Otis College of Art and Design, and received a CFDA Scholarship Award during my junior year. I was very lucky and found a job at PacSun before I graduated. A few years later, I interviewed with my mentor, Mandy Robinson, at Billabong. She discovered my talent for textile design, which I never knew I would come to enjoy so much. After spending 7 years at Billabong, I decided to take a new journey, and made my way to Hot Topic/Torrid. I have been learning many different aspects of textile design, and trying to improve upon my skill set. After 3 years at Hot Topic/Torrid, I decided to start my new journey as a freelancer.
In the fashion industry, I have met so many nice people and become great friends with a lot of them. I am so appreciative of everyone I've met, no matter happy o challenging it was. I have learned to be strong and express my love of art, and without these experiences, I won't be who I am today. As I grow, I have learned that the customer is the key to success, and I am so blessed to have been part of so many creative teams who share this same idea.
Live Free Studio, and Blair N Phoenix are two projects that I am working on. They bring me a stress-free environment, and grant me the freedom to create with my passion. The art from these studios is an expression of who I am. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I wish you a great day! Please enjoy the web site.
